The film’s reflection of our society’s relationship to traditional folk culture confronts the positions of different generations. Is it our responsibility to conserve our ancestors’ heritage or, on the contrary, to update and reshape it? The film problematizes the effects of modernization and globalization, but especially the co-opting of folklore by political powers.
